The
Begert Family...
Dennis Begert and Cynthia Hostetler
were united in marriage on August 29, 1971 in Orrville, (Wayne County)
Ohio. For the first 18 1/2 years of their marriage they farmed in
Marshallville, Ohio on a farm that had been in Cindy's family since
it was bought by the government. During this time, the Lord blessed
Denny and Cindy with five healthy children. They include Lisa (b.1974);
Brian (b.1975); Scott (b.1976); Kristin (b.1978); Mark (b.1979).
Our first son Jeremy (b.1973) has gone on to live with the Lord.
In the spring of 1990 with the Lord's
leading, the family moved to Central WI - along with 115 head of
Registered Holsteins, various pieces of farm equipment, and numerous
worldly possessions associated with raising a family of five active
children (at that time all between the ages of 10 - 16!) We had
never been uprooted or moved.
As we look back, the circumstances
involving this move amaze us as we see God's hand involved all along
the way. We had told the previous owner we would take this farm
on Super Bowl Sunday - late January. By the end of February all
of the family - and the cattle (with the exception of a few dry
cows) had taken up residence at N6314 Co Rd G. Although there was
much work to do, the Begert family were official residents of Clark
County, Wisconsin.
Since then the famiy has grown. Scott
married Kelly Kizewski on Denny and Cindy's wedding anniversary
in 1998. They have two children - Aspen and Blade. Kristin married
Gregg Zeidler in June 1999 and have two daughters, Shaylee and Calli. Lisa married Patrick Sternitzky
in July 1999. Lisa and Pat's children are Ashleigh, Aaron and Emily. Brian married Kari Wojcik in October 2005.
Lisa and Pat own and operate "Wisconsin
Ag Connection," a daily on-line agricultural news Website based out of Marshfield, WI. They also
do Web site design and advertising for various agribusinesses and organizations.
Brian operates "Begert Hoof
Care" and is (according to his parents) the best hoof trimmer
in Central Wisconsin. He also has a herd of beef cattle, farms a large number of acres and has a custom large-square baling business. He has graduated from Dairy Short Course and
numerous hoof trimming classes.
Scott and Kelly own and operate "Begert
Stainless, Inc." Scott and his crew do an excellent job of
stainless fabrication and processed pipe. They do a lot of work
in food plants and milking parlors throughout the United States.
Kristin and Gregg are graduates of
Northwestern College in Roseville, MN. Gregg is currently residential
supervisor at a group home for mentally and physically challenged
adults. He is also attending Bethel Seminary. Kristin also works
at the group home and is a licensed message therapist.
Mark is currently employed
by Scott. Athough the crew is on the road quite a bit, he is still
single and and enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
